Road To Nowhere: A Daggerheart Supplement – Available At Gen Con!

As though traversing the blasted wastes of The Sallowlands weren’t already daunting enough, consider this proposal: A colossal Umbra-warped centipede tearing across the landscape, leaving death in its wake. And atop its gargantuan back, a violent community of eccentric nomads has made their home. Welcome to Nowhere!

Road To Nowhere is a collab project written and designed by Jack Panic of DNGN Club! This supplement for Daggerheart promises a thrilling, pulpy ride set in the same world as Critical Role’s Age of Umbra: Sallowlands (although this white-knuckle thrill ride is a non-canon way to experience the Age of Umbra campaign frame!)

Get a gorgeous limited-run printed version of this 24-page zine for $5 from Darrington Press at this year’s Gen Con – from booth #2639 and the Daggerheart room 134. And look forward to its free PDF release on Daggerheart.com on Aug. 12.

The supplement from DNGN Club gives GMs the option to splice the gothic suspense of the campaign frame with a high octane grindhouse thriller. It all takes place atop the “Roadwurm,” an unfathomably large titan whose endless body forms a living, moving freeway for all manner of action to take place. This is the world of the titular Nowhere, a city of outcasts who have formed an uneasy – and dangerous – community. If you’re going to try to fit in you’ll need to play by their rules, but if you’re going to make enemies you’d better prepare for a brutal fight.

“The Umbra itself is such a compelling concept. It stands as the only true authority in the Halcyon Domain,” Jack Panic said of his inspiration. “This forced, vile evolution was bound to spawn creatures that would not only adapt to the Umbra’s influence but become immune to it… That tension creates a fascinating dynamic: communities of Enduring surviving in symbiosis with these horrific new beasts.”

If your party chooses to burn rubber, you’ll find everything you need in the zine to put the pedal to metal: including characters, lore, adversaries, activities, and even a truly dangerous deathrace that might just end in roadkill.

“It has all the elements GMs need to set up interesting situations for players…” says Panic of Road to Nowhere. “And for the players – blood-powered motorcycles (and a whole grimdark Mario Kart–esque racing system to boot!).”

If you’re feeling brave enough, this might just be the full throttle adrenaline spike you’ve been craving. And if you’re headed to Gen Con, swing by the Darrington Press booth, say “hi,” and ask us about the zine! Check out the Actual Play of Jack Panic’s Daggerheart Hack, How’s My Driving? by the Panic Table, which is nominated for an ENNIE award – And don’t forget to catch Age of Umbra: Sallowlands airing weekly on Thursdays, on Beacon, YouTube, and Twitch.
