A new fantasy RPG coming in 2025, designed for long-term campaign play and rich character progression

Join the Daggerheart Open Beta Playtest right now!

We have extended a special invitation to you and everyone you know to play, break, and bring us your unfiltered feedback for Daggerheart! The home of our playtest is daggerheart.com, where you’ll find information about the game, periodically-updated playtest materials, a frequently updated FAQ, and surveys where you can tell us all about your experiences.

There are a few different ways to participate in this playtest:

  • Download (and print, if you like) PDF materials from the Daggerheart website
  • Visit one of our two digital platform partners for their versions of the materials: Demiplane (character creator and Nexus) and DriveThruRPG (playtest material PDFs)

We created a few videos to help you begin picking cards and rolling those Hope and Fear dice as seamlessly as possible. First, check out our Daggerheart 101 video, featuring our Lead Game Designer, Spenser Starke, and our resident Game Master and Critical Role’s Chief Creative Officer, Matthew Mercer.

Character creation is one of our favorite parts of cracking open a new game and we wanted to show you how Daggerheart’s system works. Check out Matthew Mercer and Travis Willingham building out Betrand Bell using Daggerheart’s system.

Want to livestream your own playtest sessions? We welcome you to review, stream, and share the open beta content so long as you adhere to the Darrington Press Community Gaming License. If you’d like to share your experiences with the game on social media, please use the hashtag #Daggerheart. And, if you’d like to share any art that you have created from the game, please use the hashtag #DaggerheartArt.

And, finally, please don’t forget to take those surveys and play as often as you’d like. We’re excited to hear any and all of your thoughts about Daggerheart! We appreciate the time, energy, and love you contribute in making this game as rad as it can be!
